Bass Aquaculture

Unfortunately nothing much is happening with Bass aquaculture in Australia. There is a very high demand for fingerlings and most aquaculture in Australia is based around fingerling supply. In NSW there are only 3 Commercial Bass Hatcheries. Bruce Lawson down at Narooma, ourselves and another further north.

Bass are regularly captured in the Eastern flowing rivers and streams of NSW and many fishermen are catch and release fishermen. Just capturing the Bass for the fun and sport and releasing them to capture them again another day when they are bigger and stronger. Catch and release is great for private farm dams as you can catch the same fish time and time again.
