Mixed Stocking Information

You can also enhance your dam and fishing enjoyment by stocking an additional species in with your bass.

Golden Perch (Yellowbelly) are the preferred choice as these two fish live in total harmony together in your dam. Yellowbelly are also available from Aquablue and are a predatory fish just like bass.

They are the preferred species to mix with your bass if you want to fish for your fish with lures or flies. Both will attack lures and are great sport. Most people would just stock 50/50 with these two species.

Another alternative is silver perch. These are preferable if it is a small dam of only approx 1 ML. Silver perch will eat the weeds and algae so do not take food away from the bass. If it is a real big dam over 5 ML then you can stock it with everything — Bass, Yellowbelly, Silvers and Catfish.
